Swimming Tygers?

Cayman Dive Gear Tyger Ray Scooter / $399

“Water recreation” doesn’t always mean boating. Waterskiing, swimming and PWC riding have many fans -- and so do scuba diving and snorkeling. Now, there’s a new twist on the latter two activities: Cayman Dive Gear’s new Tyger Ray Scooter.

Like other underwater scooters, the Tyger Ray uses principles of hydrodynamics to propel itself below the surface. Unlike the others, however, the Tyger Ray is more compact and weighs only 40 pounds, yet it still has the oomph to carry its “rider” to a depth of 100 feet with its 12v motor.
